Social Work Community is exactly as it states…a place for social workers to have a community. A place to gather, connect and inspire…ourselves and one another. It is also a place where we share information, ideas, resources, stories, and experiences to help one another along our social work journies.
As a social worker in the field of child welfare, it has almost always been my fellow social workers who have provided me with the support I needed to get through the difficult days. My hope in building this community is that it will be a safe place for social workers to gather–a judgment-free zone, where we can provide support to one another, help each other learn, and create a community of healthy, vibrant, social workers!
Not a social worker? No worries, there will be plenty of information shared that is good for anyone, but especially good for those who take care of others both professionally and personally.
Please let me know if you have an interest in contributing your story to this blog. I hope that together we can support our social work field, provide opportunities for advocacy, share information about best practice, practice self-care, and encourage each other to grow.
Thank you for stopping by!
